Anagni, we find Subiaco, inserted for
several years in the list of the most be-
autiful “borghi” of Italy. For its pri-
vileged position, between the Natu-
ral Park of the Simbuini Mountains
and the Aniene Valley, it was chosen
by emperor Nero as location for his
summer residence. Here coalesce art,
nature, history and religion: you can
just think that in Subiaco in 1465
was printed the first book in Italy, a
tradition that survived in the “Borgo
dei Cartai” and that can be learned,
thanks to the courses bookable in the
Museum of the Paper. It seems, final-
ly, that Saint Benedict wrote right in
Subiaco his “Rule”, and more pre-
cisely in the place where today there
is the Sacro Speco monastery. The
centre of the city is dominated by the
Rocca Abbaziale (Borgias’ fortress).
In less than an hour we can reach Ca-
stel Gandolfo, today mostly known
for being the summer residence of
the Popes. There are evidences of fre-
quentation since the bronze age and
